A Song for the Soul: Untitled Hymn ~ Chris Rice

There are some terrifying things going on in the world right now...  pending pandemic, radicals beheading children, deadly viruses, wars, abductions... the list could go on and on.  Sometimes, I wake in the middle of the night to the sound of one of my boys coughing and I begin to feel fear creeping in to steal my peace.  If I allow myself to dwell on it my soul begins to feel raw and exposed... but if I let Him in, the Prince of Peace will whisper to me "Do not be afraid, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33) and I am reminded to trust. Because God loves my children, even more than I do. He desires what is best for us and He will always work for our good, no matter what trials we may face. (Jeremiah 29:11)

In those raw moments when fear is trying to get his grip on me, music is always a healing comfort. One of my favorite songs is Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus) by Chris Rice... this sweet and simple melody is ointment for my soul. It reminds me to run to Jesus, not to fear.

I don't want to have to face a tragedy in order to come to Jesus. I want to learn to love Him now, when life is going well. Yes, there is scary stuff out there, but He is good and that is enough.

If you know the Lord, remember His love for you. If you don't have relationship with the One who gave His life for you... don't wait for a tragedy to bring you to your knees... come to Jesus, and live.

 Until Next Time,
Sonja

Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus) by Chris Rice
Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live
Now your burden's lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain
So sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live
And like a new born baby
Don't be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk sometimes we fall
So fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live
Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain
Then cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live
Ohh, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside
Then dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live
And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on glory's side
And fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live
